RAWALPINDI, Jan 15 (APP):The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi on Thursday expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation and patience during temporary closures caused by the Kachehri Chowk remodelling project.
City Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said the construction of three flyovers and three underpasses under the mega project had posed a significant challenge, as more than 200,000 vehicles pass through the area daily. However, motorists, despite the disruptions, used alternative routes with considerable patience, allowing traffic to flow smoothly.
He said over 450 traffic personnel had been deployed around the clock to facilitate commuters and ensure effective management of the alternative routes.
“The public’s support and patience have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful,” the CTO added, noting that the temporary inconvenience would ultimately ease future travel.
A City Traffic Police spokesperson said the mega project was progressing rapidly and urged road users to continue cooperating, avoid unnecessary trips to Kachehri Chowk and adjoining areas, and allow an additional 25 to 30 minutes for travel until the project’s completion.
He said traffic arrangements would continue to be improved with public support until the project was fully completed.
