ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (APP):The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) turned into a vibrant hub of creativity and learning as it successfully hosted a three-day intensive theatre and acting workshop, drawing an impressive number of participants from across the performing arts community.
Led by renowned theatre practitioner, arts educator and programme organizer Dr. Waqar Azeem, the workshop attracted students, emerging artists and seasoned professionals, reflecting a growing national interest in structured theatre education and professional skill development.
The programme offered a rich, hands-on learning environment, highlighting theatre and acting as powerful tools of human expression, social awareness and creative growth.
Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants explored body language, facial expression, voice modulation, imagination and scene creation, while also gaining insight into the collaborative dynamics of directing and stage production.
Director General PNCA, Muhammad Ayoub Jammali lauded Dr. Waqar Azeem’s contribution, saying the workshop had set a new benchmark in theatre education at the national level. He noted that participants not only sharpened their technical skills but also developed a deeper understanding of theatre’s artistic depth and social relevance.
Participants described the workshop as inspiring and transformative, praising Dr. Waqar Azeem’s ability to blend technical mastery with creative vision, fostering confidence, critical thinking and artistic awareness.
At the concluding ceremony, certificates were distributed among the participants. Director Performing Arts PNCA, Mr. Sami Ullah Baloch, added a poetic touch to the event by presenting a thoughtfully crafted poem, which resonated strongly with the spirit of the workshop.
Speakers emphasized that beyond certificates, the real achievement lay in the knowledge gained, perspectives broadened and creative consciousness awakened among the participants.
PNCA reaffirmed its commitment to organizing high-quality training initiatives aimed at strengthening theatre, performing arts and cultural education, and nurturing the next generation of creative professionals across Pakistan.
