CM visits Police Lines Tank, pays tribute to Police martyrs

TANK, Jan 14 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Wednesday visited Police Lines Tank to express solidarity with the district police in their fight against terrorism.
During the visit, the Sohail Afridi laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and offered Fateha for the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
He met local elders and families of police martyrs, prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs, and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families, urging them to remain steadfast and hopeful.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police were courageously fighting on the front-line against terrorism, adding that all issues faced by the police force would be resolved on a priority basis.
He said that while death was inevitable, attaining martyrdom for the sake of the homeland and the nation was the highest honor.
The chief minister stated that in the ongoing war against terrorism, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, police, security forces, and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had made unprecedented sacrifices.
He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rendered unmatched sacrifices for peace in the country and that the entire nation had always stood united during difficult times.
He said that more than 80,000 people, including police and security personnel, had sacrificed their lives for peace in Pakistan and the region.
The chief minister reaffirmed that the provincial government would continue to provide all possible support to the families of police martyrs and expressed confidence that lasting peace would soon be restored in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
