Balochistan govt launches concrete measures to equip youth with skills, ensures employment opportunities

QUETTA, Jan 14 (APP):Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to equipping youth with market-relevant skills and providing them with dignified employment opportunities, describing youth empowerment as a cornerstone of the province’s development strategy.
The Chief Minister chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Programme, focusing on implementation pace, current challenges, and future strategy.
The meeting was attended by Adviser to the CM on Labour and Manpower Sardar Ghulam Rasool Umrani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Development Zahid Saleem. Principal Secretary to the CM Babar Khan, Secretary Labour and Manpower Niaz Muhammad Nechari, Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, Additional Secretary CM Secretariat Muhammad Fareedoon, Managing Director B-TEVTA Hamoodur Rehman, Senior officials from relevant departments and institutions.
During the briefing, it was noted that some private firms tasked with implementing the programme were showing slow progress. Expressing strong displeasure, CM Bugti ordered immediate action against the concerned firms and a comprehensive audit of funds already disbursed.
He made it clear that negligence or delays in projects linked to the future of youth will not be tolerated.
The meeting was informed that under a Government-to-Government (G2G) model, B-TEVTA has formally applied for a license as an Overseas Employment Promoter. Once approved, B-TEVTA will directly engage with embassies of relevant countries to facilitate international employment opportunities for Balochistan’s youth.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that providing international employment opportunities would not only help young people improve their own and their families’ economic conditions but would also contribute valuable foreign exchange to the country.
 He emphasized the need to align training modules with modern market demands, accelerate implementation, and ensure tangible outcomes.
Chief Minister Bugti stressed that the skills development programme should not be treated as a routine project but as a foundation for a brighter future for the youth of Balochistan.
 Sarfraz Bugti further directed all concerned departments to enhance coordination and ensure timely achievement of the programme’s objectives.
