CM to inaugurate emergency, OPD of Jinnah Institute of Cardiology soon: Minister Salman

LAHORE, Jan 14 (APP):Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the credit for providing international-standard cardiac care facilities across the province goes to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, whose vision has prioritised modern healthcare for the people.
He said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will soon inaugurate the Emergency and Outpatient Department (OPD) of the newly constructed Jinnah Institute of Cardiology (JIC), Lahore.
The provincial health minister expressed these views during his visit to the under-construction Jinnah Institute of Cardiology on Wednesday, where he reviewed the pace and quality of development work in detail. During the visit, Maira Ali from the executing agency IDAP, Director PITB Nosheen Fayyaz and contractors briefed the minister on the ongoing progress of the project.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the Emergency and OPD of Jinnah Institute of Cardiology would be opened for the public very soon, Insha Allah. He stated that the Punjab government is constructing a state-of-the-art cardiology hospital in Lahore at a cost exceeding Rs 15 billion, where international-level medical facilities will be provided to patients. He added that all concerned departments, including IDAP, are working day and night to ensure the timely completion of the project.
Expressing confidence, the minister said that the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore would be completed within the stipulated timeframe and would benefit thousands of patients from across Punjab. He said the Punjab government is committed to expanding treatment and care facilities for heart patients and ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services at their doorstep. Patients visiting the institute, he added, will have access to the best surgeons, modern operation theatres and comprehensive treatment and care facilities.
Later, the provincial health minister chaired a meeting at the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education to review the progress of the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore. Addressing the meeting, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the Punjab government is laying a network of new hospitals across the province in view of the growing population and increasing healthcare needs.
He reiterated that the establishment of new hospitals is a landmark initiative and once again credited Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for ensuring international-standard cardiac care facilities across Punjab. He said that thousands of patients will benefit from the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore upon its completion.
The meeting was attended by Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood, Chairman Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisory Committee for Cardiology Dr Farqad Alamgir, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Professor Tayyaba Waseem, Additional Secretary Technical Dr Hafiz Muhammad Waseem, Dr Adnan Khan, Maira Ali from IDAP, and Director PITB Nosheen Fayyaz.
