Customs seized smuggle NCP vehicles, heavy bikes worth Rs. 412.2 million

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP):The customs enforcement Islamabad seized smuggled NCP vehicles, heavy bikes and electronic goods worth Rs. 412.2 million.
The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Islamabad, has seized a large consignment of smuggled and non-duty-paid goods, including luxury vehicles, heavy bikes, and electronic items, during intelligence-based operations conducted late at night. The total estimated value of the seized goods is Rs. 412.2 million,said a release issued here on Wednesday.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement and concealment of illicit goods within Islamabad and adjoining areas, Customs Enforcement teams carried out multiple targeted operations. These actions are part of the ongoing drive to curb smuggling, protect the national economy and ensure compliance with customs laws.
During the operations, Customs officials recovered one Rolls-Royce luxury car, nineteen (19) heavy bikes of Suzuki and Kawasaki, along with a substantial quantity of laptops and other electronic devices.
Further investigations examination confirmed that the seized items were non-duty paid and had been brought into the country in violation of applicable customs regulations.
All recovered goods were shifted to the designated Customs warehouse for detailed examination and safe custody.
The consignments have been seized under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969, and further legal proceedings have been initiated. Investigations are underway to identify those involved and to uncover the broader smuggling network.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reiterates its firm commitment to combating smuggling, curbing illicit trade, and safeguarding national revenue through sustained vigilance, intelligence-led enforcement, and strict implementation of customs laws.
