ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP):The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad on Wednesday held a hearing in the case of Bashir Ahmad, an arrested militant linked to Fitna Al-Khawarij.
The proceedings were conducted by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.
During the hearing, Prosecutor Raja Naveed appeared before the court on behalf of the prosecution. The court recorded statements of five prosecution witnesses presented in the case. The witnesses gave their accounts related to the arrest and recovery made during the operation.
After recording the statements, the court directed the prosecution to produce more witnesses at the next hearing. The judge ordered that additional witnesses be summoned to ensure the case proceeds without delay.
According to the prosecution, Bashir Ahmad was arrested from the Bani Gala area of Islamabad during a security operation. Law enforcement officials stated that explosive material and detonators were recovered from his possession at the time of arrest.
A case against Bashir Ahmad has been registered at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station. The charges relate to possession of explosives and involvement in activities linked to a banned group.
