FAISALABAD, Jan 13 (APP):The Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) has decided to shift its head office on solar energy
system as part of a comprehensive plan to reduce electricity costs.
Presiding over a meeting, Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza said that a new control room
would be established and made fully operational before the upcoming monsoon season.
He directed the relevant officials to prepare a special plan in the first phase for converting
the head office on solar power and estimate the proposed cost for its installation.
This move would help the agency to get rid of heavy electricity bills permanently particularly
those issued by Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), he added.
He said that after the head office, other WASA offices and buildings would also be shifted
to solar systems in a phased manner to further reduce the financial burden.
He said that planning had already been completed to convert the JICA project at Jhal Khannuana
and other facilities on solar power, which would be implemented step by step.
He said that a new control room would be established to ensure prompt registration and speedy resolution of citizens’ complaints.
The required paperwork had been completed and the new control room would be fully operational before the next monsoon season to enable timely redressal of public grievances, he added.
