ISLAMABAD, Jan 12 (APP):Islamabad District and Sessions Courts heard the case related to a disputed tweet involving Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha, as the court granted temporary relief to one accused and set the next date for further proceedings.
The hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka. During the proceedings, Hadi Ali Chattha appeared before the court, while Iman Mazari did not attend due to health reasons.
Hadi Ali Chattha informed the court that Iman Mazari was suffering from a high fever of 104 degrees, which made it difficult for her to appear. He added that he was also unwell but chose to attend the hearing to avoid any impression of avoiding the court process.
In response, Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka advised that a formal request be submitted seeking exemption from personal appearance. The court then paused the hearing until a written application was filed.
After the break, the court resumed the hearing. A written request was submitted on behalf of Iman Mazari by Hadi Ali Chattha, seeking exemption from her appearance for the day. The court reviewed the application and approved the request.
Following the approval, the court adjourned the hearing of the case until January 14. Both accused will be required to comply with court directions on the next date.
The case has been registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in connection with a tweet that authorities consider controversial. The investigation is ongoing, and the court will continue to hear arguments and review records in the coming hearings.
