Governor Kundi calls for interfaith harmony

PESHAWAR, Jan 12 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday underscored the need for interfaith harmony and collective efforts to ensure lasting peace in the province.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation of the Ulema Mashaikh Ittehad Council Pakistan at the Governor House, Peshawar.
The delegation was led by Central Chairman Qari Hidayatullah Mirani and included Central Vice Chairman Noor Elahi, KP President Samiullah, Peshawar Division President Israr Ahmed Mughal, Central Committee Member Nasrullah Khan, Maulana Nasirul Haq, Maulana Khurshid Ahmed, and Muhammad Noman.
During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on the prevailing law and order situation in the province, promotion of inter-sect harmony, and strengthening religious tolerance.
The delegation emphasized that people from all schools of thought, particularly the youth, should play a positive role in promoting peace, brotherhood, and tolerance in society.
The delegation appreciated and paid tribute to the efforts and role of Governor Kundi in promoting peace, harmony, and unity among different sects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said that inter-sect harmony is a pressing need of the time and that the role of religious scholars and spiritual leaders is vital in establishing peace, unity, and tolerance in society.
He stressed that all schools of thought must work together to ensure sustainable peace in the province.
Meanwhile, the Governor held meeting with a delegation led by Chairman Aqua Tech Fisheries, Ahmed Hussain.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Governor of their current projects and ongoing initiatives in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
They also outlined key challenges confronting the industry and discussed opportunities to further develop aquaculture in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The delegation expressed gratitude to Governor Kundi for his continued support and facilitation of efforts aimed at strengthening and expanding fisheries farming across the province.
The Governor appreciated the delegation’s efforts and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting sustainable aquaculture. He said that strengthening the fisheries sector would create livelihoods, boost local incomes, and contribute to economic growth in the province.
