PESHAWAR, Jan 11 (APP):A drinking water supply scheme in Chorlaki has been restored following the timely intervention of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Aftab Alam on Sunday.
The Indus River-based water supply project had remained non-functional for some time due to technical faults, causing difficulties for the local residents.
Upon receiving the public complaints, the provincial law minister immediately contacted the executive engineer and the concerned contractor and directed them to take urgent remedial measures. As a result, damaged pipelines were repaired, the solar power system was restored and the required machinery was made operational, enabling the resumption of water supply.
The law minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure proper protection, regular monitoring and maintenance of the water supply scheme. He warned that any negligence or sabotage would be dealt with strictly under the law. He also directed the deployed staff to perform their duties with honesty, dedication and responsibility.
Meanwhile, asphalt work on the Bazid Khel Road is progressing rapidly with funds provided by the Law Minister Aftab Alam and MNA Shehryar Afridi, with the support of local chairman Aamir Khan and party workers. The project is expected to improve transport facilities and contribute to the social and economic development of the area.
Local residents welcomed the initiatives and expressed the hope that such public welfare measures would continue in the future.
