ISLAMABAD, Jan 11 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted a large-scale search and combing operation in different areas of Police Stations Sambhal, Ramna and Koral, screening 228 individuals and checking 112 houses as part of efforts to curb crime in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Sunday that the operation was carried out on the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to tighten security and restrict the movement of criminal elements.
During the operation, police teams also checked 14 shops, 57 motorcycles and 16 vehicles. Six suspicious individuals were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification, he added.
The spokesperson said the operation was conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs, while ladies police also participated to ensure thorough checking of residential units.
SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza said the objective of these operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements, enhance area security, and maintain peace across the district. Search and combing operations are being conducted regularly in various areas to ensure law and order, he added
