ISLAMABAD, Jan 11 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held an important meeting with station house officers (SHOs) at the Central Police Office to review policing and public service delivery.
A police spokesperson told APP on Sunday that the IGP issued clear instructions to all SHOs to remain available at their police stations for public facilitation. He said complainants visiting police stations must be treated with respect, courtesy and professionalism.
The IGP Rizvi directed officers to personally patrol their respective areas, ensure security around markets and mosques, and speed up operations against criminal elements.
He emphasized that the administrative affairs of police stations must be handled professionally, and police response in any emergency must be immediate and effective.
IGP Rizvi instructed SHOs to take strict legal action against land-grabbing groups, drug dealers, aerial firing and the display of weapons. He also ordered the arrest of proclaimed offenders and court absconders without delay.
He further stressed the need for an effective strategy for crime prevention and urged SHOs to look after the welfare of their subordinates and work with full coordination.
The IGP Rizvi said that protecting the lives and property of citizens and maintaining peace in the federal capital are the top priorities of Islamabad Police, adding that negligence in these duties will not be tolerated.
