Pakistani school children visit Japan’s parliament

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP): A group of Pakistani school children
has visited the Diet (Parliament of Japan) in Tokyo to get an
insight of the working of the Japanese parliament.
The students were briefed about the history of Japanese
parliament and the importance of democracy, said a statement by
Pakistan’s embassy in Tokyo, Japan issued here Tuesday.
The students belonging to Roots Millennium School, a private
educational institute, were given briefing at the office of the
Chairman of Japan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League (JPPFL).
The students also visited the office of Japan’s Prime Minister
Shinzo Abe, also the President of the ruling Liberal Democratic
Party (LDP).
The students are on a study tour of Japan from October 15-24.
Earlier, the students participated in the World’s Biggest
Painting Exhibition which will travel to the Rio Olympics 2016,
organized by a Japanese non-profit organization, the Earth Identity
Project of Madame Kawahara.
The First Lady of Japan met the Pakistani students at an
inauguration ceremony of the paintings held at Tokyo International
Airport, Haneda. The students also visited Japanese Foreign Ministry where the
Section Chief of Pakistan gave a presentation on Pakistan-Japan
relations.
Pakistan’s ambassador to Japan Farukh Amil arranged visits of
the children to the Association for Technological Excellence
Promoting Innovative Advances (TEPIA), Cosmo Planetarium, National
Science Museum, the Disaster Prevention Experience-Learning Facility
(TMS) and National Museum of Engineering Science and Innovation
(MIRAIKAN).
A special cultural day was organized which included Origami,
the Tea Ceremony and Kimono art – all aspects central to Japanese
culture. The students were encouraged to emulate the hard-working
Japanese students, who joined them in hosting and cleaning up after
the cultural event.
