DG Khan, Jan 10 (APP):Three people were killed in a tragic road accident at Dasti Pul, Dera Ghazi Khan, on Saturday when a passenger bus collided with a motorbike and a motorcycle rickshaw.
According to Rescue 1122, the accident occurred after the bus driver attempted to avoid motorbike riders who had reportedly taken a wrong turn and abruptly changed lanes. In the process, the bus struck a motorcycle rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, while the motorbike riders were also hit.
Upon receiving the emergency call, Rescue 1122 dispatched a motorbike ambulance, three ambulances, and two rescue vehicles to the scene. Police were also informed.
Rescue officials said two motorbike riders were trapped beneath the Karachi-DG Khan-bound bus. They were extricated using pneumatic lifters and other tools. However, despite efforts, all three victims had already succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased were identified as Haji Muhammad Nawaz (55), driver of the motorcycle rickshaw, and two motorbike riders, Allah Diwaya (19) and Ibrahim (17). The bodies were shifted to Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, Dera Ghazi Khan.
Rescue 1122 said the operation was carried out under the supervision of Incident Commander Alamgir, In-charge Operations.
