FAISALABAD, Jan 09 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar has reviewed security arrangements for the upcoming district bar elections during a meeting held at the District Bar here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that foolproof measures have been put in place to ensure peaceful polling and strict compliance with the law.
He discussed election-day security, coordination between police and the bar, and measures to prevent any untoward incident.
He said that strict checking would be carried out at all entry and exit points of the District Katchery including entry gates to ensure safety of voters and officials.
He emphasized that maintaining law and order during the elections is a shared responsibility and called upon all stakeholders to cooperate with police by observing legal requirements.
The CPO made it clear that hooliganism, aerial firing or any other form of unlawful activity would not be tolerated and strict legal action would be taken against the violators.
The police are fully prepared to maintain a peaceful environment throughout the electoral process, he added.
President District Bar Association Saifur Rehman Bhatti assured the police of full cooperation and said that the bar would play its role in maintaining peace and order during the elections.
Police spokesman said that the police are committed to ensuring a secure and orderly environment so that the bar elections could be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
SSP Operations Furqan Bilal, SSP Investigation Saleemullah Kalachi, SP Lyallpur Division, Secretary District Bar Abdul Wahab Shah and others were also present in the meeting.
