ISLAMABAD, Jan 09 (APP):The Embassy of Japan in Islamabad has announced the MEXT Teachers Training Scholarship Program 2026, offering Pakistani teachers an opportunity to receive professional training and research exposure in Japan under the Japanese Government’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
According to a press release issued by the embassy on Friday, the scholarship is open to Pakistani teachers with at least five years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools, both in the public and private sectors. Applicants must be 35 years of age or below.
The program aims to provide Pakistani educators with the opportunity to conduct research on school education in Japan and learn modern teaching methodologies and techniques from Japanese experts, which would contribute to their professional development and enhance educational practices upon their return.
MEXT offers each year scholarships to international teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at designated educational institutions in Japan as teacher training students under the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship program. This is maximum 18 month duration non-degree training course, but applicant will get a certificate after completing the required course at the university in Japan.
The embassy announced that the last date for submission of applications is February 12, 2026. Detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, application procedures and other requirements is available on the official website of the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan.
