Courts hand down illicit drug traffickers

RAWALPINDI, Jan 09 (APP):Rawalpindi courts have sentenced three drug suppliers to a total of 38 years in prison along with fines amounting to Rs. 980,000.0.
According to the details, Umar Farooq was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 800,000.0. He was arrested by Pir Wadhai Police in May 2025 after 12 kilograms of charas was recovered from his possession.
Shakeel Khan received 09 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.100,000.0. He was also arrested by Pir Wadhai Police in January 2025 when 01 kilogram and 828 grams of charas was recovered from him.
In third case, Farman Khan was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 80,000.0. Nasirabad Police arrested him in June 2025 after recovering 1 kilogram and 520 grams of charas from his possession.
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani has praised the hard work of SSP Investigation, the investigation teams, and the legal section. He stated that all possible steps are being taken to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, adding that protecting the younger generation from this poison remains the top priority.
