ISLAMABAD, Jan 08 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted grand search and combing operations in different areas of the federal capital under the supervision of zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs).
A police spokesperson told APP on Thursday that ladies police personnel also took part in the operation.
During the search and combing activity, 327 individuals, 127 houses, 26 shops, and 12 guest houses were checked. Similarly, 83 motorcycles and 30 vehicles were inspected.
The spokesperson added that 14 suspected persons and nine motorcycles were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification during the operation.
He said the purpose of these operations is to curb criminal activities and ensure peace in residential and commercial areas.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has already issued directions for grand search operations across the district to eliminate crime.
The spokesperson urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the helpline. He added that the safety of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
