Balochistan govt to initiate urban development projects under Sui Master Plan

QUETTA, Jan 05 (APP):The Balochistan government has decided to initiate comprehensive internal development and urban beautification projects in Sui Town under the Sui Master Plan, aimed at transforming the area in line with modern urban standards.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, held here on Monday. The meeting focused on the overall development of Sui Town, improvement of urban infrastructure, and sustainable future planning.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Managing Director Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Sikandar Memon, and senior officials from relevant departments. Member of the National Assembly Mian Khan Bugti, Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti Zohaib-ul-Haq, and Chairman Municipal Committee Izzat Aman Bugti were also present.
Participants agreed that under the Sui Master Development Plan, a range of internal development and urban uplift projects would be launched to modernize the town and enhance the quality of life for residents.
 The proposed initiatives include the installation of street lights, development of an effective drainage system, provision of clean drinking water, construction of sports grounds, and establishment of a modern bus terminal equipped with up-to-date facilities.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the primary objective of the Sui Master Plan is to provide quality civic amenities to the local population and significantly improve living standards.
 He emphasized that the Balochistan government is taking serious and practical steps to transform Sui into a well-organized, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable city.
It was agreed that the development plan would be implemented in phases, while Pakistan Petroleum Limited would ensure the timely provision of its share of resources in accordance with existing agreements.
The chief minister issued clear directives that there would be no compromise on transparency, quality, or timely completion of development projects. He stressed that planning must be fully aligned with public needs and local realities.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti further noted that the development of Sui would not only strengthen the local economy but also generate new employment opportunities, directly benefiting the population and contributing to overall social and economic improvement in the region.
