ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (APP):Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
On the Right to Self-Determination Day, he reminded the world of the United Nations Security Council resolution of January 5, 1949. The resolution guaranteed Kashmiris the right to decide their future through a free and impartial plebiscite.
Chairman PMYP also announced that the PMYP would intensify youth-led advocacy at national and international levels. The aim is to highlight India’s violations of international law in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
In a message, Rana Mashhood said the Kashmir issue is not a frozen chapter of history. He called it a bleeding reality for millions. Khan said decades had passed since the world pledged justice to Kashmiris. Yet their cries were still buried under curfews, barbed wires and black laws.
He stated that Kashmiri youth had not grown up in the comfort of playgrounds. They were raised under the shadow of military boots.
Rana said their courage is not born of slogans. It is born of survival. Their dreams, he added, were written in tears. Their hopes were guarded by sacrifice.
The PMYP chairman lamented that Indian-occupied Kashmir had become one of the most militarized regions in the world. He said children there learn the meaning of loss before the meaning of life. He added that mothers wait endlessly for sons who never return.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s support for Kashmir is not ceremonial. He called it sacred. He said the government would continue to raise the issue at every global forum.
He added that Pakistani youth would be mobilized as ambassadors of justice, truth and peace.
Rana Mashhood announced that the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme would launch digital storytelling initiatives. He said international youth dialogues would also be arranged. University-based awareness drives will further amplify the silenced voices of Kashmiri youth beyond borders.
Calling global indifference the greatest injustice, he said resolutions without action were broken promises. He warned that such promises haunt the human conscience.
Concluding his message, Rana Mashhood paid glowing tribute to the unwavering determination of Kashmiri youth. He assured them that Pakistan’s heart beats with them. “Your pain is Pakistan’s pain,” he said. “Your struggle is our struggle.”
He added that their freedom is Pakistan’s unfinished dream. He vowed that the bond between Pakistan and Kashmir would remain unbreakable until justice is delivered.
