ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (APP):Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has expressed complete solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the Right to Self-Determination Day.
The Interior Minister stated that January 5 is a historic reminder of the day when the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people was internationally recognized by the United Nations. Despite the passage of 77 years, depriving the Kashmiri people of their legitimate right remains the worst form of oppression and injustice.
Mohsin Naqvi said that Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and an unresolved international issue for more than seven decades. The Kashmiri people are looking towards the United Nations for the fulfillment of its global commitment. This prolonged wait is a wake-up call for the conscience of the United Nations, the international community, and countries claiming to be champions of human rights.
Mohsin Naqvi added that Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir today is a vivid picture of helplessness and oppression, putting a serious question mark on the claims of global justice. Indian atrocities have turned the occupied territory into the world’s largest prison, where freedom has been completely curtailed.
Interior Minister further said that India’s attempts to crush the right to self-determination through brute force are a blatant violation of international laws and democratic principles. The double standards and criminal silence of the international community over Indian atrocities are now evident to all.
The Interior Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan has always been a strong supporter of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination at the principled, moral, and diplomatic levels and will continue its unwavering support in the future.
