Customs enforcement Quetta seizes smuggled goods worth Rs. 251.325 million

ISLAMABAD, Jan 03 (APP):Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta, in a successful Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO), conducted with the assistance of other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), and the District Administration Kalat, seized large consignments of smuggled goods with a total estimated value of Rs. 251.325 million.
The seized contraband comprised foreign-origin betel nuts and cloth which were being transported illegally in violation of customs laws. The tentative cost, insurance and freight value of the recovered goods has been assessed at Rs. 251.325 million,said a release issued here on Saturday.
The operation was carried out on the basis of credible intelligence, reflecting the continued commitment of Customs Enforcement Quetta to curb smuggling and protect the national economy. Effective coordination and timely support from the law enforcement agencies of Balochistan played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the operation.
FBR reiterates its resolve to continue strict enforcement actions against smuggling, illicit trade and corrupt practices.
