HYDERABAD, Jan 03 (APP):The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Fayaz Hussain Abbasi has warned the concerned officers to strictly monitor the ongoing development schemes in Matiari district, maintain the quality of work, and ensure completion of projects within the stipulated time frame.
Chairing a meeting in that regard in Matiari on Saturday the Commissioner warned of strict disciplinary action against the officials if they failed to implement the instructions.
He said completing projects within the approved cost and timeline ensures better utilization of government funds and allows the public to benefit from these schemes as well.
He added that contractors involved in substandard works or failing to complete projects on time should have their contracts cancelled and they should be blacklisted, while action would also be taken against the officers of the concerned departments.
Earlier, the Commissioner inspected the Safe City Station and its waiting area; the Ladies Park; rehabilitation of the MDM High School’s auditorium, gymnasium, girls library, indoor games complex; and the rehabilitation of the Circuit House.
He also checked the emergency ward which had been established at the Rural Health Center.
The relevant officers provided him a detailed briefing on the ongoing development schemes.
Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousif Sheikh, informed about the solution to the city’s old drainage issue, stating that the Kari Khad would be emptied through a disposal system to ensure proper drainage of wastewater in Matiari city.
He added that the site was being equipped with modern facilities and converted into a beautiful city park.
An Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering also gave a detailed briefing on the drainage project.
The Commissioner observed that thanks to the DC’s supervision the cricket ground project, aimed at providing sports opportunities for youth in Bhit Shah, had been completed ahead of the deadline.
He recalled that the project was approved in 2023 and it was scheduled to complete in June, 2026.
Abbasi emphasized that the public should take ownership of development projects.
The Commissioner accompanied by the DC paid a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
