SHANGLA, Jan 03 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, here on Saturday said that poor governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had increased problems of masses and affected services delivery.
“There are serious governance issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that need urgent attention of CM KP,” Amir Muqam said.
He added that the government was taking practical steps to empower the youth.
Engr Amir Muqam said youth are a valuable asset of any country, and guiding them in the right direction guarantees national development.
He expressed these views while addressing, as the chief guest, at a ceremony held at Shangla University for the distribution of laptops among students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme and the inauguration of modern digital smart classrooms at the University.
The Federal Minister distributed laptops to 45 students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme and congratulated the successful students. He also inaugurated modern digital smart classrooms at the university.
Addressing the laptop distribution ceremony, Engineer Amir Muqam said that he was present on behalf of the Prime Minister and that the government is committed to equipping youth with modern education and technology.
Praising the efforts of Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan for youth welfare, he said that the current government is taking concrete measures to empower young people.
He added that the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme has played an important role in providing better opportunities for education, skills development, and employment to the youth.
Engr Amir Muqam reiterated that youth are a nation’s most valuable capital and that their proper guidance ensures national progress.
The Federal Minister said that the issues faced by Shangla University would be resolved on a priority basis and that the institution would be developed as a model university.
Appreciating the Prime Minister’s development vision and educational reforms, he said that the laptop scheme is a practical example of empowering youth.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s economic policies, he said that the current government is taking effective measures for economic recovery, reducing inflation, and creating employment opportunities, and that positive results are already visible.
Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and security forces, Engineer Amir Muqam said that the everlasting sacrifices of the martyrs for establishing peace in the country are unforgettable.
He also praised the leadership of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir and mentioned his services.
Criticizing the provincial government of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, the Federal Minister said that there are serious governance issues in the province that need urgent attention. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Shangla and said that he would continue to play a full role in the development of the region.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the digital smart classrooms, Engineer Amir Muqam said that providing digital facilities in educational institutions in line with modern requirements is the need of the hour.
The establishment of digital smart classrooms will enable students to receive quality education through modern technology and will improve research and teaching processes.
He added that the government is taking comprehensive measures to promote higher education and improve educational facilities.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sardar Khan thanked the Federal Minister and said that the establishment of digital smart classrooms at Shangla University would play an important role in further improving educational standards.
He said that this modern facility would allow both teachers and students to benefit from contemporary teaching methods.
The chief guest also visited various departments of the university and showed keen interest in academic activities.
Earlier, Engineer Amir Muqam received a warm welcome upon his arrival at Shangla University in his home district.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sardar Khan, faculty members, and senior administrative officials welcomed the Federal Minister. A large number of university teachers and staff were also present.
Later, the Vice Chancellor briefed the Federal Minister in detail about the university’s academic activities, ongoing development projects, challenges, and future goals.
The briefing also highlighted educational facilities, research projects, and measures related to student welfare.
Appreciating the role of Shangla University, Engineer Amir Muqam said that such institutions were vital for the promotion of higher education.
He assured full cooperation for the University’s development and praised the efforts of the faculty and administration.
The Federal Minister also planted a commemorative sapling on the university lawn, emphasizing the importance of tree plantation and stating that environmental protection and educational development are interconnected.
He reaffirmed his commitment to providing full support for further promoting the University’s academic and research activities.
On this occasion, Member of the Provincial Assembly Rashad Khan, PML(N) District President Intikhab Alam, Haji Farhad, Sabir Rehman, Zahoor Elahi, Gharib Gul, and other officials were also present.
