PESHAWAR, Jan 02 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Service (Rescue 1122) on Friday held its annual performance review meeting at Provincial Headquarters wherein report of operations conducted during 2025 was presented.
Spokesperson for Rescue 1122, Bilal Ahmad Faizi, who presented the report said that Rescue 1122 attended to more than 271,000 emergencies across the province, delivering prompt and professional services.
Rescue 1122 responded to 169,000 medical emergencies, 25,000 road traffic accidents, 5,691 fire incidents, 780 drowning incidents, 4,439 crime-related cases, 194 building and roof collapses, 10 mine blasts, 93 gas and cylinder explosions and 6,924 other incidents.
He stated that the service provided emergency medical aid to over 289,000 injured individuals and patients who were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Additionally, through the Health Ambulance Referral Service, 58,800 critically injured or seriously ill patients were shifted to major hospitals elsewhere for specialized care. The year saw 6,185 fatalities in these incidents.
Spokesperson also underlined Rescue 1122’s commitment to provide equal services in urban areas, merged districts and former FATA regions and on temporary rescue points established at key tourist spots to assist locals and visitors.
