BAHAWALPUR, Jan 02 (APP):Vice Chancellor (VC) The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran inaugurated the Prime Minister’s Youth Development Centre (PMYDC) at the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus of the university, aiming to equip students with modern skills and enhance youth empowerment in line with the federal government’s vision.
Addressing the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor said that Pakistan’s economic progress depends on the youth’s command of artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and innovation. He emphasized that universities must go beyond traditional education and prepare students as skilled professionals capable of competing in the global market. He added that IUB is committed to supporting the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif by providing platforms that enable students to convert their potential into economic strength.
Focal Person PMYDC IUB Dr. Faisal Shahzad and Chairperson Department of Artificial Intelligence Dr. Najia Saher briefed the audience on the centre’s objectives. They said the PMYDC will function as a one-stop facility offering access to national and international scholarships, internships and job placements, leadership development through student societies, and support for startups and digital freelancing. Regular boot camps and workshops on AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity will also be organized. Deans, faculty members, and a large number of students attended the ceremony. The Vice Chancellor later visited various sections of the centre and interacted with student ambassadors.
