RAWALPINDI, Jan 02 (APP):The Rawalpindi Region Police achieved significant success in 2025, completely eliminating all crime pockets across the five districts while recording substantial declines in major offences, a performance report said on Friday.
The report, covering Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree, showed dacoity with murder cases fell by 52 per cent, dacoity by 43 per cent, vehicle snatching by 37 per cent, and robbery by 25 per cent, reflecting the police’s effective strategy, modern policing, and integrated operations.
Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfaraz Alpa said the region achieved 100 per cent clearance of crime pockets, while 52 per cent of the most-wanted “A” category fugitives were apprehended. All kidnapping victims were safely recovered, he added.
To improve public facilities, RPO Alpa said, regional and district offices previously in poor condition were renovated to provide citizens with a safe and dignified environment.
For police welfare, he added, meetings were held with families of martyred and injured officers to promptly address their issues. Memoranda of understanding were signed with hospitals, laboratories, and educational institutions to provide discounted facilities for police personnel and their families.
To tackle street crime, a Falcon Squad was formed in Chakwal, and a day-care centre for women police officers was opened in Jhelum.
“Citizens received justice at their doorstep through 113 open courts held across the region to hear complaints and ensure timely redressal,” RPO Alpa said.
In 2025, 1,311 appeals against police officers’ and personnel’s disciplinary actions were adjudicated on merit. Some 210 head constables and assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) were promoted to higher ranks to encourage professional growth.
RPO Alpa said the Rawalpindi Region Police would continue efforts with dedication and professionalism to protect lives and property, eliminate crime, and establish an exemplary policing system. He reiterated the force’s commitment to citizen safety, professional excellence, and public service.
