Appeals of 12 cops against dismissal from service accepted

MULTAN, Jan 02 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry granted relief to 12 police officials and accepted appeals they had filed against their dismissal from service during Orderly Room proceedings here.
According to police spokesman, the RPO heard the appeals in detail in the light of law, evidence, and departmental rules and regulations and decided these to meet the ends of justice. In some cases, the dismissal from service punishment was converted into lesser punishments.
RPO disposed of the appeal of inspector Iftikhar Ahmad after his explanation in response to show cause notice was found to be satisfactory. Appeal against two-year service confiscation punishment filed by inspector Muhammad Fayyaz (now DSP) was accepted.
Sub inspectors Abdul Hannan Qayyum, Irfan Ashraf, Abid Hussain and Muhammad Ashraf had filed appeals against dismissal from service. RPO accepted their appeals reinstating them to their jobs after converting the punishment into one-year increment stoppage.
Dismissed sub inspector Farrukh Abbas (Now ASI) was also reinstated and his punishment was converted into increment stoppage for a year.
Appeals of dismissed head constables Husnain Ali Abbas, Muhammad Faheem and Muhammad Asif were also granted. Appeals of three dismissed traffic assistants, Ehtasham Haidar, Junaid Iqbal, and Zahid Imran were accepted while dismissal-from-service punishment of constable Asad was converted into two-year increment stoppage and he was ordered to perform judicial duty for two years.
RPO said on the occasion that discipline was the top-most priority for police department and warned that any negligence, violation would invite departmental action.
