UoS hosts Christmas, New Year celebrations for Christian employees

SARGODHA, Jan 02 (APP):The University of Sargodha (UoS) on Friday organised a Christmas and New Year 2026 celebration to honour and appreciate the dedicated services of its Christian employees.
According to a spokesperson for the UoS here, the event was arranged by the Resident Office with the aim of promoting interfaith harmony, inclusivity, and a respectful work environment within the University.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas graced the occasion as chief guest while Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan, Father Catholic Church David John, Pastor UP Church Zafar Edward were guests of honour. Senior administrative officers of the university were also present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the Christian community and emphasized that mutual respect and unity are the foundations of a peaceful and productive environment.
He further stated that the New Year symbolizes renewed determination for a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan, urging institutions to uphold national unity, promote tolerance, and contribute positively to peace, stability, and collective progress.
Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan noted that diversity is strength of the institution and collective respect is essential for institutional growth, peace, and shared progress.
Pastor Zafar Edward offered special prayers for the peace, prosperity, and progress of Pakistan and emphasized that unity and mutual respect among people of all faiths are essential for a peaceful society.
In his remarks, David John appreciated the UoS for providing an inclusive environment where employees from diverse religious backgrounds work together with dignity and harmony.
The celebration featured Christmas songs, speeches, and the ceremonial cutting of a Christmas cake, creating an atmosphere of warmth, joy, and shared goodwill among all participants.
