RAWALPINDI, Jan 02 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out four operations across the country, arresting three suspects and seizing 21 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 3.7 million, an ANF spokesman said on Friday.
In an international drug interdiction, ANF officials intercepted a parcel at a courier office in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Karachi, and recovered 11.6 kg of ice (crystal meth) concealed in curtains and clothing. The parcel was destined for Australia, and the suspect involved was arrested.
In separate domestic operations, ANF recovered 4 kg of hashish from a vehicle near Model Town Humak and arrested the accused. Another suspect was apprehended near Service Road in Islamabad with 3 kg of hashish in his possession.
In a fourth operation, ANF raided a house near Sohan, Islamabad, recovering 4 kg of hashish along with an illegal firearm.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway, he added.
