Expo center to be built on 50 acres in Faisalabad: Minister Shafay

FAISALABAD, Jan 01 (APP):Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has said that a state-of-the-art expo center will be built on an area of 50 acres in district Faisalabad, while a world-class community center is also being built in FIEDMC for 450 Chinese.
He was chairing a meeting of the Board of Directors (BoDs) at the FIEDMC head office here on Thursday. Chairman FIEDMC Rana Azhar Waqar and others were also present. Secretary Industries Umar Masood, Deputy Commissioner Cap (Retd) Nadeem Nasir and some members attended the meeting through video link.
The minister said that all matters of FIEDMC should be carried forward as per the rules and providing the best possible facilities to the industrialists is the first priority of the government.
The minister rejected the proposal to increase the price of plots in industrial estates organized by FIEDMC and said that FIEDMC is the largest industrial estate in Pakistan, unfortunately there is no bank branch here. He said that the branches of various banks will be brought to the FIEDMC.
Earlier, the meeting considered a 16-point agenda. The board approved the recommendations of the human resources committee for the appointment of the Secretary Board.
The board approved a development plan of Rs 6.7 billion for Allama Iqbal Industrial City, funds of Rs 791 million for improving the security issues of foreign investors in industrial estates managed by the FIEDMC.
The board also granted approval to start the process of appointing a legal advisor to expedite the legal matters of FIEDMC, industrial and commercial building regulations, audit report of FIEDMC for the last 3 years and policy of bringing bank branches to the industrial estates.
Chief Executive Officer FIEDMC Qurat-ul-Ain briefed the board in detail.
