DC chairs meeting to review disaster preparedness of concerned departments

HYDERABAD, Jan 01 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shaheed Benaziraabad Abdul Samad Nizamani presided over a meeting on disaster preparedness in order to review in detail the preparedness of concerned departments and inter-departmental coordination to effectively respond to any potential emergency situation across the district.
Addressing the meeting, DC emphasized that close coordination, timely response, and complete harmony among all departments are essential to deal with natural disasters, accidents, and any emergency. He directed rescue, health, police, and other relevant institutions to further strengthen their preparedness and ensure regular implementation of emergency planning.
Briefing the meeting, RF Dr Kaneish informed participants that, on the directives of Provincial Disaster Management Authority, an emergency drill would be conducted in Shaheed Benazirabad district in collaboration with relevant departments to assess preparedness for natural disasters.
He said that during the drill, available resources, manpower, and equipment of Rescue 1122, the Health Department, police, and other concerned institutions would be evaluated to keep the communication and response system active for immediate action in case of an emergency. He informed that the mock exercise would be conducted at Bilawal Sports Complex.
DC directed all concerned officers to extend full cooperation in the drill organized by Provincial Disaster Management Authority. For this purpose, District Health Officer Dr Mudassar Hussain was appointed as focal person.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr Mudassar Hussain, MS Dr Yar Ali Jamali, In-charge Rescue 1122 Engineer Abdul Mannan, District Manager SIEHS Aqsa Jamali, DSP Police Akhtar Samo, and officers from other relevant departments.
