BEIJING, Jan 1 (APP): China’s Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong visited the Embassy of Bangladesh in China to offer condolences over passing of former prime minister, Khaleda Zia.
On behalf of the Chinese government, he expressed deep condolences on the passing of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and extended sincere sympathies to the interim government of Bangladesh and the family of Ms. Khaleda Zia, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
Sun Weidong spoke highly of Khaleda Zia’s important contributions to promoting the cause of China-Bangladesh friendship and the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to China Nazmul Islam thanked the Chinese side for its condolences and said that during Khaleda Zia’s tenure as Prime Minister of Bangladesh, cooperation between Bangladesh and China in various fields was comprehensively strengthened. The Bangladeshi side is committed to advancing the friendly relations between Bangladesh and China.
