LAHORE, Jan 01 (APP): The Punjab government took a big decision on the first day of the new year and abolished 9 government departments, the official notification of which has also been issued.
According to official notification, the Punjab government abolished 9 government departments and merged them into the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department.
According to the notification issued by the Service and General Administration Department, the aforementioned institutions will work under the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department and this department will be functional immediately.
The notification reveals all the merged institutions will have a secretary and a DG.
The institutions that have been merged into the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department include Enforcement Price and Control, Food Can Commissioner, Agriculture Economic Marketing, Institute of Agriculture Marketing, Consumer Protection Council, Punjab Facilitation Bazaar Authority, Punjab Halal Development Agency and Punjab Food Authority.
