QUETTA, Jan 01 (APP):Secretary of the Women Development Department Balochistan, Saira Atta, has reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to advancing sustainable development, gender equality, and the empowerment of women across the province in 2026.
In a message issued on the occasion of the New Year 2026, Saira Atta extended heartfelt congratulations to women and girls across the country, particularly in Balochistan. She expressed optimism that the new year would bring fresh opportunities for women’s rights, empowerment, and overall development.
Highlighting the potential and resilience of women in Balochistan, the secretary added that women of the province are talented, courageous, and dignified. She emphasized the need for more effective and coordinated measures in the new year to ensure women’s access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and protection.
Saira Atta noted that the Women Development Department will continue and expand its ongoing initiatives aimed at empowering women throughout 2026. She said special priority would be given to improving the welfare of women in both rural and urban areas of the province.
Reiterating the department’s mission under the directives of the Balochistan government, she said concrete steps would be taken to strengthen women’s legal and social status while advancing sustainable development and gender equality.
The secretary also called upon the general public, civil society organizations, and the media to play an active role in eliminating all forms of discrimination and violence against women. She stressed that collective efforts are essential to building a civilized society based on mutual respect, equality, and social justice.
