Rescue-1122 Multan rescued over 156,000 people in 2025

MULTAN, Jan 01 (APP):Rescue-1122 Multan rescued a total of 156,855 people during 2025 by responding swiftly to emergencies across the district, District Emergency Officer (DEO) Multan Dr Hussain Mian said while releasing the annual performance report on Thursday.
The performance review meeting was held at the Central Rescue Station Multan under the chairmanship of Dr. Hussain Mian. Emergency Officer Operations Engineer Muhammad Bilal, Emergency Officer Rescue & Safety Muhammad Arshad Khan, Control Room In-Charge Mudassar Zia, and station coordinators attended the meeting, which reviewed the overall operational performance of Rescue 1122 during the year.
Briefing the participants, Engineer Bilal stated that Rescue 1122 Multan received 691,169 calls in 2025, including 130,797 genuine emergency calls. These comprised 30,563 road traffic accidents, 82,114 medical emergencies, 1,324 fire incidents, 2,970 crime-related cases, 74 building collapses, 28 drowning incidents, and 9,722 other emergencies.
He said that Rescue 1122 provided timely response and successfully rescued 156,855 victims, of whom 97,522 received first aid on the spot, while 53,840 were shifted to hospitals. During road traffic accidents, 220 people lost their lives at the scene. The average response time remained eight minutes, reflecting the department’s operational efficiency.
Under the Patient Transfer Service, 7,135 patients were shifted from local hospitals to advanced medical facilities. The Motorbike Ambulance Service responded to 73,830 emergencies, while Rescue 1122 Multan also rescued 376 animals and birds during the year.
During the International Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) competitions held at Rescue 1122 Headquarters in Lahore, the CERT team of Rescue 1122 Multan delivered an outstanding performance, defeating 61 teams and securing the championship title.
Rescue 1122 Multan also continued its public awareness and prevention initiatives. First aid and fire safety training sessions were conducted at colleges, universities, hospitals, offices, and other institutions, benefiting 6,331 individuals during 2025. In addition, regular inspections were carried out to ensure fire safety arrangements in buildings exceeding 50 feet in height.
During the severe monsoon floods of 2025, Rescue 1122 Multan conducted what officials described as the largest flood operation in Punjab’s history. According to official records, 39,594 flood-affected people were rescued, 449 medical camps were established, and 19,613 people were provided transportation facilities. The operation continued round the clock, while 9,012 animals were also evacuated to safe shelters.
