LAHORE, Jan 01 (APP): The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing has ramped up its efforts against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters sealing 49 properties on Thursday.
These operations were carried out in several key localities, including Gulberg, New Garden Town, New Muslim Town, Allama Iqbal Town, and Sabzazar.
The primary focus of the crackdown was on properties being used for unauthorized commercial activities and those failing to pay the required commercial fees. In Gulberg and New Garden Town, 20 properties were sealed for illegal commercial use. Additionally, 4 properties were sealed in New Muslim Town for non-payment of commercial fees.
During the recovery operation, LDA teams also sealed 25 more properties in Allama Iqbal Town and Sabzazar. The sealed properties include a wide range of businesses such as private schools, clinics, pharmacies, workshops, restaurants, food points, grocery stores, retail shops, offices, and more.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Chief Town Planner Asad-ul-Zaman, with a clear message from DG LDA that actions against illegal commercial buildings and defaulters of commercial fees will continue without discrimination.
