ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP): As the world steps into 2026, Senator Sherry Rehman extended her warm New Year greetings to people across the globe, with a special message of hope, resilience, and unity for the people of Pakistan.
“Each new year brings with it an opportunity to reflect, renew, and recommit ourselves to the values that bind us as a global community,” Senator Rehman said in her message issued by her office adding that “My hope for 2026 is rooted in the shared aspiration for a peaceful, just, and prosperous world.”
Speaking about Pakistan’s journey ahead, Senator Rehman expressed optimism for a year marked by democratic stability, social cohesion, and inclusive growth.
“For Pakistan, I hope to see 2026 as a year of harmony—where democratic processes continue to strengthen, institutions uphold the rule of law, and citizens come together with mutual respect and understanding,” she stated.
Senator Rehman also underscored the urgent need to address climate challenges facing Pakistan, emphasizing that climate justice must remain central to national and global agendas.
“Pakistan stands on the frontlines of climate change. In 2026, we must continue to advocate for climate action that protects our most vulnerable communities, safeguards livelihoods, and secures a sustainable future for coming generations,” she said.
Highlighting the importance of gender equality, Senator Rehman reaffirmed her commitment to women’s rights and empowerment.
“No nation can truly prosper unless its women are empowered. The new year must bring renewed resolve to advance women’s rights, economic participation, education, and leadership across all sectors of society,” she added.
