Mustafa Shah extends New Year greetings to the nation

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP): Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah has extended warm greetings to the entire nation on the occasion of the New Year 2026, expressing hope that the year brings renewed prospects for stability, progress and prosperity for Pakistan.
In a message on New Year, he prayed that the coming year ushers in peace, economic growth and enhanced well-being for all citizens of the country.
He emphasized that the start of a new year provides an opportunity to learn from past experiences and chart a clear course for the future.
Mustafa Shah reaffirmed that the Parliament, in accordance with its constitutional responsibilities, will continue to play a proactive and consistent role in upholding democratic values, ensuring the rule of law and promoting public welfare.
Highlighting the challenges faced by Pakistan during 2025, including regional tensions and the war situation, he noted that Pakistan’s principled, responsible and prudent stance following the Pakistan-India conflict was recognized and acknowledged at the international level.
He said that the country achieved significant diplomatic successes during this period, which not only enhanced Pakistan’s prestige but also strengthened its standing on the global stage.
While celebrating the New Year, the NA Deputy Speaker underlined that the plight of the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian-administered Kashmir must not be forgotten, as they continue to face severe human rights violations, oppression, and suffering.
He highlighted the humanitarian challenges faced by the people of Gaza due to war and extreme weather conditions, including heavy rains, which have further compounded their hardships.
Mustafa Shah expressed the hope that the coming year will bring freedom, peace, and justice for the people of Palestine and Kashmir.
He emphasized that mutual tolerance, social harmony and interfaith cooperation are essential for national stability and sustainable development.
Mustafa Shah stressed that promoting interfaith harmony in a diverse society like Pakistan is a pressing need to strengthen mutual respect, unity, and peace.
He urged the citizens to contribute, with a spirit of unity, hard work and responsibility, towards building a strong, peaceful and prosperous nation, and to make the New Year a source of collective progress.
