RAWALPINDI, Dec 31 (APP):The Gujjar Khan Police have arrested a kite supplier and recovered 200 kites along with 25 spools of string during a crackdown on the illegal activity, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Wednesday.
According to the spokesman, the suspect was taken into custody during an operation in the Gujjar Khan area, where the prohibited items were seized from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Anam Sher, in a statement, said kite flying had been declared a non-bailable offence and warned that those involved in what she described as a dangerous and deadly pastime would not escape the law.
She said strict action would continue against suppliers and facilitators of kite flying to ensure public safety.
