Tourism sites in Kalash Valley in Chitral reviewed

PESHAWAR, Dec 29 (APP): A high-level meeting was held in Lower Chitral under the chairmanship of the Secretary Tourism, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saadat Hassan, with line departments and reviewed tourism sites.
During the meeting, comprehensive possibilities for the promotion and development of tourism in Chitral district particularly in the Kalash Valley, were discussed in detail.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Kalash Valley Development Authority, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Abdul Salam, former Advisor to the Chief Minister on Minority Affairs, senior officers of the relevant government departments, and representatives of non-governmental organizations active in Lower Chitral.
On this occasion, the Director General of the Kalash Valley Development Authority, Abdul Salam, gave a detailed briefing on the tourism potential of Chitral district and the habitat and development plans for the Kalash Valley.
During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner General provided a comprehensive briefing to the Secretary of Tourism regarding various proposed and ongoing tourism projects, which play a key role in promoting tourism in Chitral district and in developing the region as an important tourist hub.
The meeting also reviewed in detail various aspects of promoting sustainable tourism, preserving the unique cultural heritage of the Kalash Valley, maintaining environmental balance, and fostering regional socio-economic development.
Secretary Tourism Saadat Hassan reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating coordinated and effective measures for improving health, education, and infrastructure under the good governance roadmap, to make Chitral a prominent center for tourism.
