Police achieves  major breakthrough against crime, 63 gangs busted

MULTAN, Dec 29 (APP): Multan Police have continued their aggressive campaign to eradicate crime from the city, registering remarkable success through coordinated and intelligence-led operations during the last three months.
During comprehensive actions, the Gulgasht Division arrested 142 members of 63 criminal gangs involved in dacoity, armed robbery, motorcycle and vehicle theft and other criminal acivities, besides recovering stolen property worth more than Rs 185.3 million.
Holding a press conference at Police Line here on Monday, the City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar said that the recovered properties includes 16 cars, one wagon, one APV van, 191 tolas of gold ornaments, 71 mobile phones, livestock including a buffalo, goats and a calf, four inverters, 1,500 Saudi Riyals, steel and brass utensils, iron grills, and over Rs 366 million in cash. Police also recovered weapons used in criminal activities, including 132 pistols and more than 246 rounds of ammunition. As a result of these efforts, 639 criminal cases were successfully traced during the separate investigations from the arrested criminals, he added.
In addition to action against property crimes, the Gulgasht Division carried out a large-scale crackdown on drug peddlers and registered 282 narcotics cases during the last three months. The police recovered over 107 kilograms of Hashish, more than 19 kilograms of heroin, over 13 kilograms of ice, and 3,898 liters of liquor.
Within the Gulgasht Circle, police arrested 93 members of 41 gangs and recovered stolen propertis worth over Rs 130 million, including eight cars, one wagon, 135 tolas of gold ornaments, 81 motorcycles, 55 mobile phones, four inverters, foreign currency, and more than Rs 167 million in cash. A total of 429 cases were traced in this circle.
Similarly, the Saddar Circle arrested 49 members of 22 criminal gangs and recovered stolen properties worth over Rs 536 million. The recoveries included eight cars, one APV van, 56 tolas of gold jewelry, 34 motorcycles, 16 mobile phones, iron grills, and more than Rs 199 million in cash, with 210 cases traced.
The CPO maintained that the different teams of the police under the supervision of SSP Operations Haider Ali, SSP Investigation Muhammad Tahir, and SP Gulgasht Division Saifullah Gujar were given special task to ensure eradication of crime the city through a comprehensive crackdown against criminals. Special teams led by DSPs Arshad Qayyum and Rao Tariq Parvez, along with SHOs and their teams, utilized modern technology and police applications to trace criminal networks and recover stolen property.
CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar commended the police teams for their professionalism and dedication, stating that further operations were underway to completely eliminate crime from Multan. He also handed over recovered property to its rightful owners, who expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the police’s effective action and commitment to public safety.
