One-day family health mela held at RHSA centre Sanghar

HYDERABAD, Dec 29 (APP):The Population Welfare Department Sanghar organized a one-day free family health mela at the RHSA centre, Sanghar.
The camp was inaugurated by chief guests Civil Surgeon Sanghar Dr Aftab Azam Sirewal, District Population Welfare Officer Shahabuddin Memon and Senior Medical Officer Dr Khalida Bibi.
During the health mela, trained staff provided services related to permanent family planning, LARC and other family planning facilities. Free screening tests for HIV (AIDS) and hepatitis were conducted, while free medical procedures and medicines were also provided to the beneficiaries.
Addressing the ceremony, Senior Medical Officer Dr Khalida Bibi said that families visiting the health mela were educated about maternal and child health, contraceptive methods and maintaining appropriate birth spacing.
Speaking on the occasion, District Population Welfare Officer Shahabuddin Memon said that rapid population growth was causing serious challenges for society. He added that on the directives of provincial minister for health and population Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and secretary population welfare Hafeezullah Abbasi, health melas were being organized in underdeveloped areas of the district to provide family planning services and healthcare facilities, particularly for mothers and children.
