ISLAMABAD, Dec 29 (APP): Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry Monday condemned the exploitation of a minor girl through social media, calling it ‘social terrorism, urging platforms to implement strict guidelines, highlighting the need for youth education on social media safety and warning that neighboring countries like India and Afghanistan are involved in such malicious
activities.
While speaking exclusively to a local news channel, the state minister revealed that terrorist networks were plotting to turn the minor girl into a suicide bomber, describing the act as a heinous attempt to exploit innocent lives. He strongly condemned such extremist tactics, calling them a direct attack on the future of the nation.
Chaudhry further warned that foreign elements, particularly from India and Afghanistan were deliberately targeting underage children and using social media as a powerful tool to radicalize and manipulate young minds. He stressed the urgent need for strict regulations, awareness campaigns by parents and educational institutions and protective measures to shield vulnerable youth from becoming victims of these malicious
agendas.
He further emphasized that the government would not take any action that harms social media users or restricts freedom of expression, but strongly urged social media platforms to implement proper guidelines and verification measures to ensure the safety of their users, particularly protecting youth from exploitation and radicalization.
He described the incident as a clear act of social terrorism and underlined the government’s responsibility to protect citizens and uphold peace nationwide.
Highlighting unity with all provinces against terrorism, he stressed that in today’s digital age, strict laws are essential to prevent the spread of anti-state propaganda through social media and safeguard the nation’s
stability.
