ISLAMABAD, Dec 28 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Sunday conducted a major grand search and combing operation in different areas of Sangjani, arresting 41 suspects, including four Afghan nationals, and recovering arms, ammunition and narcotics.
An official told APP that the operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Saddar Zone Kazim Naqvi, while police personnel were given a special briefing before the action.
During the operation, police checked 177 individuals, searched 66 houses, 35 motorcycles and 15 vehicles. The official said that 12 motorcycles and four vehicles lacking proper legal documentation were shifted to the police station for further verification.
He added that weapons, ammunition and drugs were recovered during the search, while 41 suspicious persons, including four Afghan nationals, were taken into custody for further investigation.
SP Kazim Naqvi said that Islamabad Police would continue indiscriminate operations against criminal elements to maintain peace and order in the federal capital, adding that the safety and security of citizens remained the top priority.
