SIALKOT, Dec 27 (APP): Commissioner Gujranwala Division Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi paid a surprise visit to Daska and Pasrur on Saturday to review Suthra Punjab programme and ongoing beautification schemes.
The commissioner inspected cleanliness arrangements on highways, streets and open areas, and directed immediate cleaning of drains.
He expressed strong displeasure over poor sanitation on GT Road Daska and ordered the
surrender of the Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Daska over unsatisfactory performance.
He also instructed authorities to impose fines on those spreading filth on GT Road Daska
and Main Road Pasrur.
Naveed Haider Shirazi directed the Sialkot Waste Management Company to expedite completion of the boundary wall of the waste enclosure in Pasrur.
He added that the programme had gained international recognition as a public welfare initiative and urged citizens to cooperate with the administration in keeping their surroundings clean.
