94,891 BISP wallet accounts opened

SARGODHGA, Dec 27 (APP):A total of 94,891 wallet accounts have been opened under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in the district,covering all seven tehsils,including Bhalwal,Bhera,Sillanwali,Sahiwal,Sargodha,Shahpur and Kot Momin.
In an exclusive interview on Saturday,Malik Safder Awan, Deputy Director of BISP Sargodha, and Madam Sumaira, Assistant Director, provided details of the ongoing account opening process.
They revealed that out of the total 94,891 accounts, the distribution across tehsils is as follows:Bhalwal  with 7,000, Bhera with 3,800, Sillanwali  with 6,980, Sahiwal  with 5,683,Sargodha with 48,000, Shahpur with 11,995, and Kot Momin with11,423 accounts.
The officials further noted that the total caseload of BISP beneficiaries in the district stands at 213,727, with around 55 percent of the account opening process completed.
The remaining beneficiaries will be facilitated in the coming days.
The BISP initiative, implemented in collaboration with telecom companies Ufone, Telenor, and Zong, allows women beneficiaries to withdraw funds, pay utility bills, and transfer money through authorized telecom agents.
The program supports the Prime Minister’s vision of advancing a cashless economy.
