SIALKOT, Dec 26 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali paid a surprise visit to Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital here and reviewed the medical facilities being provided to patients.
During the visit, the DC checked attendance of doctors and paramedical staff as per duty rosters and directed the concerned officers to ensure punctuality and proper discharge of duties.
She inspected the emergency, OPD and surgical wards, met patients under treatment and inquired about availability of medicines, medical care and staff behaviour.
The deputy commissioner also visited the hospital pharmacy, reviewed medicine stocks and directed that no patient should face shortage or delay in receiving medicines. She further inspected the laboratory and pathology lab, assessing the quality of tests, timely issuance of reports and cleanliness arrangements.
Speaking on the occasion, Saba Asghar Ali said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued clear directives to provide quality, free and timely healthcare facilities in public hospitals. She emphasized that patient care is the top priority and negligence would not be tolerated.
She directed the hospital administration to ensure continuous monitoring of cleanliness, discipline and patient facilitation, and to address complaints promptly.
