RAWALPINDI, Dec 26 (APP): A man killed his stepmother and injured a neighbouring woman with an axe over a domestic dispute in the Kallar Syedan area, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Friday.
According to initial information, the suspect attacked his stepmother with repeated axe blows, killing her on the spot, and also injured a woman living nearby. Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and brought the situation under control.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect. The station house officer of the Kallar Syedan Police Station reached the spot along with personnel and supervised initial proceedings.
The spokesman said the injured woman was shifted to hospital for medical treatment, while the body of the deceased was moved to hospital for post-mortem examination.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and legal action has been initiated. The police were investigating the incident, the spokesman added.
